GENERAL CRITERIA FOR VISA SUBCLASS 188
- Age: Must be under 55 years.
- Nomination: Invitation by an Australian state or territory government agency.

BUSINESS INNOVATION AND INVESTMENT (PROVISIONAL) VISA SUBCLASS 188 ARE SEVEN (07) MAIN TYPES OF VISA-STREAMS
Business Innovation Stream
- This stream is suitable for young entrepreneurs who want to open a new business in Australia or who already successfully run a business.
- Applicant and or partner combined net asset possessed is AUD $1.25 million and ready to be transferred to Australia within 2 years of visa grant.
- Applicant must have had an ownership stake in 1 or 2 businesses that had at least business turnover in any 2 years in last 4 years is AUD $750,000 if after July 2021 and AUD $500,000 if before July 2021.
- Lives in Australia for 5 years, visa cost AUD $6,270 and processing time is variable.
Investor Stream
- Applicant is required to run a business and investment activities in Australia and must also invest at least AUD $2.5 million.
- Apart from total investment at least AUD $500,000 in venture capital and growth private equity funds. Others at least AUD $750,000 must invest in emerging companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and rest of AUD $1.25 million must invest in managed funds.
- Applicant and or partner combined net asset possessed is AUD $2.5 million and ready to be transferred to Australia within 2 years of visa grant.
- Lives in Australia for 5 years, visa cost AUD $6,270 and processing time is variable.
Significant Investor Stream
- Applicant must invest at least AUD $5 million in Australian investments and maintain investment activity in Australia with genuine intention for the life of provisional visa.
- Apart from total investment at least AUD $1 million in venture capital and growth private equity funds. Others at least AUD $1.5 million must invest in emerging companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and rest of AUD $2.5 million must invest in managed funds. This managed fund includes range of assets, Australian corporate bonds or notes, annuities, and commercial real estate.

Business Innovation Extension Stream
- Applicant must hold Business Innovation stream visa subclass 188.
Applicant have lawfully operated and maintained his commitments to involves directly to operate the business activities and decision-making process. - Must maintained his ownership interests in the sponsoring state.
Lives in Australia for 8 years, visa cost AUD $755 and processing time is variable up to 16 months.
Significant Investor Extension Stream
- Applicant must continue to hold Significant Investor stream visa subclass 188 in accordance with the complying investment framework in place at the time you applied for this visa.
- Lives in Australia for 8 years, visa cost AUD $755 and processing time is variable up to 15 months.
Premium Investor Stream
- Applicant must have nominated by Austrade and need to be invest at least AUD $15M in Australian investment.
- This investment is complying premium investment with Australian Securities Exchange, Australian Government Bonds, Corporate Bonds or notes, Australian Proprietary limited companies, Real Property in Australia excluding residential property, Deferred Annuities, and in State/Territory approved philanthropic contribution.
- Applicant must also have a genuine and realistic commitment to continue your investment activity in Australia after your visa ends.

Entrepreneur Stream
- This visa attracts entrepreneurs who are committed to developing their concepts into a successful business.
- Must have a funding agreement with a third party to carry out entrepreneurial activities.
- Must provide evidence to support your genuine intention to undertake entrepreneurial activities leading to the development of an enterprise in Australia.
- Complying entrepreneur activities must exclude residential estate, labor hire, purchasing an existing business or franchise.
- Must have competent English language proficiency.
- Lives in Australia for 5 years, visa cost AUD $4,240 and processing time is variable up to 9 months.
