STUDY AND TRAINING
Australia is the third highest number of international students migrating to them among the English-speaking countries and does so with competitive education cost. 5 out of the 30 best cities for students in the world are in Australia. Australian qualifications are also internationally recognised when students seek employment anywhere in the world or seek further study at any international universities. The multiculturalism and the Australian lifestyle allow students to peacefully enjoy themselves, all whilst living up to the best of their academic potential. Facilities for teaching, training and research are world class. Australian Universities have state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms with most modern technology and teaching aides. All International students are protected by the ESOS Act and the National Code of Practice 2018.
Applicants intending to study in Australia can apply for this visa. This visa allows students to remain and study in Australia for up to 5 years of full-time study at a University/TAEF/College in line with enrolment. You can include a family member when you lodge visa application.
WORK RIGHT
- This visa allow student to work 40 hours per fortnight when course in season.
VISA COST AND PROCESSING TIME
- Cost from AUD $650 for main applicant and the processing time 1-3 months.
GENERAL CRITERIA FOR VISA SUBCLASS 500
- Age: Must be of certain age.
- Identity documents: Eligible Passport.
- Evidence of intended to study: Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), enrolled in a full-time course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). If an applicant is enrolled in more than one courses, then the gap period must not be more than 2 months and all COE’S must be included in the visa application. (Unless exempted).
- Welfare arrangements: Applicants under 18 years are required to enclose their living arrangements with the visa application. Form 157n; confirmation of living arrangement from education provider; or an acceptance advice of secondary exchange students only.
- Parental consent: Form 1229 if child is under 18.
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC): Must maintain adequate health insurance during the time of study in Australia.
- Genuine student requirement: Including statement of purpose and valid documents including education and work documents linking future study program.
- Evidence of English language: Must meet English language skills as required by education institute during the application.
- Education and work documents: All educational certificate and transcript along with work related documents.
- Financial documents: Approximately AUD $45,000 student only, more fund evidence will be required to prove if dependents are included in application. Additional AUD $22,000 per annum is required per person to support living expenses in Australia for subclass 590 visa.
- Evidence of relationships: If dependents are included and proof of their school enrolments if they are of school age.
- Character requirement: Must be a good character, no criminal record, or police case anywhere.

People over 21 years or older who are student’s parent/ custodian/ or relative can apply for student guardian visa if the student is a minor under 18 years of age, to help them finish their study. The Guardian can stay for the accompanying student visa holder’s stay period.
WORK RIGHT
- This visa does not allow student’s guardian to work in Australia. However, guardian still can check Department of Home Affairs (DHA) website.
VISA COST AND PROCESSING TIME
- Cost from AUD $650 for main applicant and processing time varies but can be up to 4 months.
GENERAL CRITERIA FOR VISA SUBCLASS 590
- Identity documents: Eligible Passport.
- Financial documents: Shows income AUD $73,000 approximately per annum of you or your partner to support the needs of students and self. This cost includes, one year university fees, one year living expense for both or more if more family members are accompanying (generally AUD $22,000 in a year per person).
- Overseas Visitor Health Cover (OVHC): Must maintain adequate health insurance during the time of stay in Australia. Evidence to support your intention as a Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) criterion.
- Health requirement: Must meet the health requirement be free from any diseases and health condition.
- Character requirement: Must be a good character, no criminal record, or police case anywhere.
- Proper application form: Form 157N, Form 1229 and Form 956.

GENERAL CRITERIA FOR VISA SUBCLASS 407
- Age: Must be of 18 years or older.
- Evidence of English language: Must meet Functional English language skills.
- Overseas Visitor Health Cover (OVHC): Must maintain adequate health insurance during the time of stay in Australia. Evidence to support your intention as a Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) criterion.
- Health requirement: Must meet the health requirement be free from any diseases and health condition.
- Character requirement: Must be a good character, no criminal record, or police case anywhere.

– Occupational training to improve skills in an eligible occupation
– Occupational training for capacity building overseas
